Frequently asked questions
What page number formats can I use?
Four presets: a bare number ("1"), "Page 1", "1 of 12", or "Page 1 of 12" — numbering always starts at 1 on the first page and counts every page currently in your document.
Can I choose which corner the page numbers go in?
Yes — bottom center (the most common), bottom left, bottom right, top left, or top right.
What if I remove or reorder pages afterward?
Page numbers are stamped as regular text at the moment you apply them — they don't automatically renumber if you add, remove, or reorder pages afterward. Apply page numbers as one of your last steps for the cleanest result, or re-apply them again afterward (the old ones can be deleted individually first, the same as any other text box).
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere to add page numbers?
No. Everything happens in your browser using JavaScript. The file never leaves your device.
