It doesn't attempt to recreate the source PDF's exact fonts, multi-column layout, or embedded images. If visual fidelity matters more than editable text, PDF to PowerPoint (one full-page image per slide) or a plain image export keeps the original look exactly.
Does this work on a scanned PDF?
Only for whatever's already been run through Make Searchable (OCR) in the editor first — a scan has no real text in it at all until then. Run Make Searchable, then convert to Word and that recognized text comes along with it, as real editable text.
